Project Planning Manager - VIE Contract (W/M)

Job Summary:

Mission: The Project Planning Manager is responsible for managing the planning of each project (from Prospective Research to Life cycle management) under his/her responsibility in ensuring a proactive support to the Project Leader, Project Manager and Project team. For each of his/her project, he/she is leading and coordinating operational planning actors to ensure alignment between project and operational plans. He/She is also participating in the management and the evolution of the planning toolsets: templates, processes, tools, templates…

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the planning of each project belonging to the R&D portfolio, for both research & development, based on the strategy/tactic discussed by the project team and on governance decisions, including prioritization

  • Activiely participate to project team meetings and present project plan

  • Analyze the project timelines and ensure optimal critical path

  • Alert the project team on any planning issues and provide guidance on project planning optimization

  • Develop scenario and provide recommendation for optimization

  • Lead the planning team to align project and operational planning with the project strategy

  • Collaborate efficiently with all operational planning actors to ensure consistency between the project plan and the operational plans

  • Monitor the progress, the deviation with their explanations and the associated action plan

  • Ensure project planning variance analysis on a monthly basis as well as on a quarterly basis

  • Maintain in the planning system, the planning & resources information linked to the Therapeutic Area activity for his/her projects

  • Provide regular consolidate update/reporting to all project stakeholders, Project team, R&D governance, Committees and Working Groups

  • Ensure consistency and high quality production of data on the whole project plan to support portfolio management

  • Participate in or lead any initiative delegated by the Project Planning Local Head, targeting the evolution of the project planning tool (including reporting & quality control) and the establishment and the maintenance of processes as well as best practices

  • Assist the Planning Management & Data Quality Specialist with the and the definition and the maintenance of libraries of templates

  • Template support

  • Take over any specific delegation assigned by the Local Head or Planning Management & Data Quality Specialist

Candidate:

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business, Master in a Scientific degree or in Project Management

  • 1-3 years working in the pharmaceutical industry with understanding of research & development and project management/planning

Skills:

  • Solid knowledge of drug development process from Research through LCM and in-depth understanding of interconnections between all contributors to the project strategy at all stages of development

  • High level knowledge of the main steps of discovery

  • Solid project management skills: planning, resources & costs management

  • Good knowledge of a planning tool

  • Ability to understand databases and to quickly acquire proficiency with computer systems and new applications

  • Team work and transversal collaboration, strong networking skills

  • Customer oriented and Quality focussed

  • Ability to coordinate activities and stakeholders

  • Ability to understand and integrate constraints of operationals

  • Ability to identify problems and to engage appropriate interlocutor, ability to negociate

  • Solid communication skills, written and oral

  • Analytical and synthetic, attention to detail, rigorous

  • Adaptability in a highly changeable environment

  • Fluent English
