Director of Strategy and Operational Effectiveness, US Oncology BU
The Director of Strategy and Operational Effectiveness supports the Head of Oncology and Transplant, North America, and will be responsible for monitoring and implementing the BU’s priorities while ensuring the BU runs efficiently and interacts effectively with all stakeholders.
The Director of Strategy and Operational Effectiveness will provide strategic and operational support in line with the BU’s overall business objectives. This role will involve cross functional collaboration with Sales and Marketing, Market Research, Value & Access, Finance, Medical Affairs, Business Operations, and Business Development.
The Director of Strategy and Operational Effectiveness will be responsible for overseeing the strategic business planning process, analyzing and identifying opportunities and associated strategies for growth, evaluating external business development opportunities, and identifying areas to improve overall BU effectiveness.
Work Leadership or Supervisor:

Oversee the strategic business planning and budget process for the BU
Budget/F1 / F2, 3YFF/Strategic plan
Coordinate with brand leads and finance to put together overall story of our business over time
Highlight key trends & issues and summarize BU level performance
Analyze BU performance and identify opportunities and associated strategies for growth
Analyze, track, communicate and present productivity progress via quantitative key performance indicators in order to accelerate revenue and profit growth. Assist in analysis and decision support of overall BU budget attainment
Work with leadership to define strategy and tactics to achieve BU business objectives
Organize and facilitate deep dive acceleration plans
Leverage market research, competitive intelligence and data analytics to assist with commercial assessments and due diligence efforts for business development activities
Support head of sales through various operational elements
Coordinate analytic exercises in partnership with Business Operations
Support pull-through of compliance related topics
Provide operational and project management support to BU Head
Represent the BU Head in meetings, events or any instances necessary, and speak on behalf of the BU Head
Prepare or ensure preparation of presentations and documents requested by the BU Head for internal and external meetings and events
Serve as lead for all compliance related deliverables on behalf of the BU. Work with brand leads and sales leadership to ensure teams are aware with Sanofi Genzyme compliance procedures, changes and follow-up.
Assist in budget management of franchise level activities (e.g. sponsorships, congresses)
Manage monthly leadership team meetings in conjunction with BU Head
Lead key cross brand projects as determined by the business. Leverage key functional relationships to scope, coordinate and deliver on project requirements.
Bachelor’s degree required
MBA or other advanced degree is preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial operations: sales, marketing, sales analytics, product/project management, and / or corporate finance is preferred
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills are required
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups, made up of the following: Marketing, Sales, R&D, Medical Affairs, Market Research, Finance, Forecasting, etc. is preferred
Strong presentation skills
Strong project management expertise
Experience in Oncology preferred, familiarity with Specialty Care market dynamics required
Self-directedness in ambiguous environments
